Digital uptake in the charity sector

Thanks to the efforts of several government, private and non-profit organisations, more people than ever have basic digital skills in the UK. Unfortunately, a number of reports have shown that charities are missing out on this progress.

Not only is the charity sector by far the least digitally mature of any industry in the UK, the Lloyds Bank UK Business Digital Index 2015 has shown that even fewer charities have basic digital skills than last year.

To give an overview of the state of digital uptake in the UK charity sector, we’ve put together the below infographic.

At Technology Trust, we’ve helped thousands of UK charities progress using IT over the years and have seen the benefits of technology at first hand.

In the coming months, we’ll be covering a number of digital topics in turn to help charities to improve their skills online and with technology (you can see our schedule here). You can follow it on the advice and guidance section of our site or sign up to our newsletter at the bottom of this page to receive the advice in your inbox.
